Chris Bates
(Managing Director)

Prior to founding Checkside, Chris worked with an international  business consulting group, which was preceded by a highly successful career in the financial services industry.

Chris specialises in advising clients on human capital and succession strategies, as well as senior executive and director recruitment projects.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from Curtin University of Technology, is a graduate and alumni member of the AICD (GAICD status), is a member of The Executive Connection (TEC 45) and has completed various financial studies with the ASX and FINSIA (now Kaplan).

Chris spends his spare time with his wife, children and labrador. An ex-footballer and basketballer, Chris now runs the dog to stay fit and is a playing member of Royal Perth Golf Club.

Scott O’Hehir
(Director)

Scott joined Checkside in July 2005 and became a Director in August 2007. Prior to joining Checkside, Scott worked as an industrial relations practitioner with a private employer focussed advisory firm.

Scott specialises in advising clients on human capital strategies, as well as executive recruitment projects.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from The University of Western Australia as well as postgraduate qualifications in Applied Finance from Kaplan.

A keen surfer, diver and triathlete, Scott is currently training to compete in his first marathon.

Jevita Nilson
(Associate)

Jevita holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from the University of Western Australia and recently completed a Graduate Diploma of Business (Human Resource Management). 

Jevita works with our clients to provide innovative and commercial human capital advice to assist them to recruit, engage and retain highly capable people. Jevita also develops best practice HR documents, policies and procedures to ensure our clients’ HR functions run effectively.

Outside of work Jevita is a keen photographer and enjoys spending time at the beach with her husband and their pet Labrador.
